What are Posting Types?
Cargado offers four posting types to match how you actually work with freight. Choosing the right type protects your reputation with carriers and ensures you get relevant bids.
What brokers use posting types for:
- Cover owned freight immediately — Use Load for spot freight you need covered now.
- Build routing guide capacity — Use Lane for recurring freight you control.
- Test market pricing — Use Potential Load when quoting customers on freight you haven't won yet.
- Price RFPs accurately — Use Potential Lane to gather carrier bids for RFPs and RFQs.
Owned Freight

- Use for spot freight already awarded to you
- Ready to book immediately — it's already in your TMS
- Always include the rate
- Once matched, you can immediately assign the load and send rate confirmation
Post a Lane
Recurring freight you already own with established rates.
- Use for dedicated freight with ongoing business you control
- Use for building routing guides with capacity you own
