In the “Home” tab, click the “Show Cargado” button. If you use the “Single Line Ribbon” layout, the button may be inside a dropdown menu. This video walkthrough provides step-by-step guidance on how to set up and use the Add-in.

The Cargado task pane will open. Click the blue “Log in” button to log in. If you’re prompted to display a new window, click “Allow”.

Log in with your Cargado username and password in the new window. When you’re finished, the window will close and the Cargado task pane will show a welcome message.
Click the black “Create sheets” button in the task pane to create the “Cargado Mappings” and “Cargado Rates” sheets. If you already have those sheets, clicking the button will overwrite them.

Open the “Cargado Mappings” sheet. Replace the yellow cell values with the terminology for trailer types and border crossings used in your specific spreadsheet (they’ve been pre-filled with example values). If you don’t use a particular trailer type or border crossing, you don’t have to specify a value. These values will be used by the Excel VLOOKUP function later.

Open the “Cargado Rates” sheet. Paste or fill in the appropriate values from your RFP for a single row: origin, destination, trailer type, and (if crossing the US-Mexico border) border crossing. You can observe how the RFP values are mapped to Cargado values in the “Cargado Mapped” section to the right, and finally to rate results in the “Cargado Rates” section to the right of that.

Now, you’re ready to look up rates for the rest of your RFP, either by filling in more values in the yellow section, or if you’re more comfortable with Excel formulas, by calling the Cargado pricing functions in your RFP sheet itself. See the Function reference section below.

Rate lookups are metered: every unique combination of function parameters, per week, counts as a new usage. If your plan’s rate lookup quota is exceeded, a Cargado sales associate will reach out to you.
